Roundtable with Roberta’s

A beautifully mild February morning provided the perfect atmosphere for the second Together Hospitality NYC meeting of 2025 which was hosted at Roberta’s Penn District. Nestled in the shadow of Madison Square Garden, Roberta’s has been operating at this location for less than a year and is already a bustling success and a must-visit destination with a clientele as broad and varied as the neighborhood itself. Owner Brandon Hoy and his team of Joe Johnson, Senior Director of Operations, and Rafael Flaksberg, GM Penn District, shared the history of the brand from its rugged beginnings in Brooklyn to their expansion way out west in Los Angeles and finally now in the heart of New York City where their talented team satisfies locals and tourists alike.  Authority member Jed Pines from Pines & Co followed up with an exceptionally insightful glimpse into how good bookkeeping is evidence of an overall healthy culture at a restaurant. Finally, our new Social Impact partner Hot Bread Kitchen was well represented by Denia Tavarez and Julianne Feder, who inspired the full house with their mission of economic opportunities through food entrepreneurship.
