Kevin D. Kim is an entrepreneur, attorney, and public servant who served as a Commissioner at city, state, and federal levels. He is a former Commissioner of the NYS Liquor Authority (SLA), NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), and President Biden’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
He has also served on various nonprofit boards, including the City University of New York (CUNY) Board of Trustees, American Red Cross – Queens Chapter, and Friends of THIRTEEN.
As the son of immigrant small business owners and a co-founder of several NYC small businesses, Kevin deeply understands the challenges hospitality entrepreneurs face. As SBS Commissioner, he successfully led numerous innovative economic initiatives aimed at helping restaurant owners.
A proud product of NYC public schools, Kevin attended K-12 in Queens. He holds a B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a member of the Columbia Law Review.
